Yamane's Korean-style ombre brow course review
Yamane is really becoming more and more professional.
Courses are also gradually being added.
I was originally an insecure guy.
But one day I accidentally heard that Yamane recently started offering a Korean-style ombre (powder) eyebrow course.
A friend of mine had gone to the teacher to get MD ombre (powder) brows.
At first I wondered if it would look strange.
I asked my friend to bring that MD so I could see how the brows looked after the procedure,
and I also compared it with photos of him before he had the treatment.
The difference was really huge.
My originally sparse eyebrows were shaded by the teacher's skillful hands.
It really made me look so much more handsome.
Seeing it made me really excited.
I looked up some information about ombre brows online,
but I was still a bit scared.
After all, I'd never had plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures before.
My skin is also very sensitive and I'm afraid of pain.
So I checked Yamane's official website
and looked into the teacher's background. It turned out the teacher was really impressive—
Korean certifications, beauty-related licenses, and even a professional nurse.
I checked the price and it was also very affordable.
So I mustered up the courage, thinking that if after ombre brows I became more confident and my luck changed,
the pain would be worth it.
Yesterday I called to make an appointment.
It happened the teacher had a schedule in Kaohsiung.
Without hesitation I discussed with the teacher what kind of change I wanted.
The teacher is a woman—
she's very beautiful and speaks softly, which made me feel I could trust and relax.
When the session started, the teacher first applied anesthetic to my eyebrows.
Seeing me very nervous, she gently told me not to be anxious,
-suggesting to leave it on longer so it'd hurt less.
To ease my nerves she had me lie quietly on the bed,
and thoughtfully played soft music.
And like that,
both eyebrows had the anesthetic on for about 20–30 minutes.
Because I'd discussed it with the teacher,
she said that if men use the feathering (hair-stroke) method,
the lines will be more defined and also more natural,
but it will be slightly more painful than powder ombre brows.
Although I was scared inside,
I mustered up the courage and said okay—I want the feathering method.
During the process, although anesthetic had been applied so it wasn't too painful,
there was still some sensation of pain.
My hands clenched tightly on my stomach,
and in my mind I kept telling myself to trust the teacher
because in the future I would become more handsome and better.
The teacher was very attentive and observed my condition.
During the process she asked me to sit up,
open my eyes and close them
to check if I felt any discomfort.
After finishing the right eyebrow,
the teacher asked if I wanted to see how it looked with one side done.
She then took me to the bathroom mirror to look.
I looked up and thought, "Wow, is this really me?"
My originally sparse eyebrows had really become fuller.
She said that although at first it might feel strange and take some getting used to,
after 4–5 days when the scabs fall off and after a week it will look more natural,
and after a touch-up at two months the color will hold better.
Both from afar and up close I thought it looked so natural.
The teacher's technique is really excellent.
She carefully asked, "Would you like further touch-ups?"
I said the lines looked a bit pronounced.
She said it's okay and asked if I wanted to try.
Using the powder-ombre (soft shading) method would reduce the lined look
and also make them appear denser.
But since powder ombre and feathering are two different techniques,
market prices for both tend to be higher.
But considering I'm budget-conscious,
the teacher said it's okay.
In July and August they had a summer special promotion.
The teacher really is beautiful and kind-hearted.
I immediately agreed.
Anyway, I could become more handsome and maybe luckier,
and it would last 2–3 years.
Investing in myself is a good choice.
They started the powder-ombre method.
After finishing the right eyebrow, the teacher asked me to look in the mirror again.
When I looked—wow, it had really become fuller.
It was truly amazing!
The teacher kindly said
that after the scabs fall off I could come back within a week or report any issues.
Next was to continue with the powder-ombre on the left side.
And so an hour and a half passed.
During the process the teacher was really very attentive,
so I felt at ease and was no longer afraid of the pain.
The teacher again had me go to the bathroom to look.
I was even more shocked—wow, I had really become a different person.
The previously unconfident-looking me suddenly, like magic, had more defined facial features.
I'm super satisfied.
The teacher also gave me a tube of specialized ointment for eyebrow care
that helps the scabs heal faster.
I rode my bike home in a very good mood.
I don't know why,
but I felt much more confident—
even singing really well while riding (true story).
The next day the teacher kindly messaged me on LINE
to ask how I was doing.
I replied that it was really great and I was very satisfied,
I had no discomfort,
and will wait to see how things look after a week.
