Kaohsiung experience sharing: Muxia Forest [Muxia / Matthew]

2021-12-08 20:46:27

There seem to be very few experience-sharing posts about Kaohsiung, so I’ll share my own experience for those who still can’t decide.

All posts are based on personal experience; everyone has their own preferences, so these are very subjective impressions. Clients pick therapists, and therapists of course pick clients, so I’m sharing what I felt for those reading this.

Personal quick stats: 178/72/13.5/3.5

I won’t say much about my looks. I haven’t trained my body—you can’t see much muscle. I’m not overweight.

Although this is a Gay SPA, my personal priority is massage over sexual perks. Since the price is about the same, I naturally choose good-looking therapists. I don’t like body-to-body rubbing; physical contact can be intimate, but that gives me no real massage feeling so it feels pointless to me. Isn’t it kind of absurd to go to a Gay SPA and expect professional therapeutic massage? But there really are therapists here who are good at massage, which is why I didn’t look for a regular wellness center.

Ratings 1–5, for reference only:

Environment: 6

Friendliness: 4

Looks: Muxia 4, Matthew 4.5

Body: N/A

Professional massage skill: 5

sexual perks/size: N/A

Selected package: 120 minutes “Mu Yue Zuo Guang”

The studio is in an elevator building without a management office; the exterior and surroundings are rather old.

Each therapist uses a separate room, and both rooms’ styles are atmospheres personally created by Muxia. You’ll see why I gave the environment a 6—he’s really done an amazing job creating the space.

From the moment you walk in you can feel the care put into it: a forest-like scent and the fragrance of essential oils hit you right away—not an exaggeration.

I haven’t experienced many northern SPAs and only a few in central Taiwan, but in the south Muxia is the only one who personally crafted the space to give guests the feeling of bathing in a forest—very thoughtful.

Even the bathroom is very clean and tidy. Bath products are complete—there’s even facial cleanser and mouthwash.

Matthew learned from Muxia, but because he didn’t want to be exactly the same he worked to improve in his own way, so their techniques share some similarities.

Technique-wise, Matthew focuses more on stretching and expansion/mobilization. His professional moves and techniques may hurt a bit, but you can tell he’s working on the acupoints; it’s not a brutal pressing or forcing of stretches. He observes each person’s flexibility and tolerance and adjusts accordingly—there are fixed techniques and adaptive variations.

Muxia focuses on aromatherapy-based stress relief and relaxation. His pressure is firm yet never painful or uncomfortable, and with varied techniques and precise handling of acupoints it’s so comfortable you can easily fall asleep. Really impressive.

During the massage both of them are happy to chat. They won’t disturb you if you want to rest, but if you want to talk they’re willing to share and have a good conversation—very personable.

The oil massage here is different from others. Why do I say that? Because many places use oils meant primarily as lubricants, but here they use proper massage essential oils and don’t overuse them—only the amount needed for the oil massage.

The oil massage technique is also very professional and on point, a smooth, flowing approach that presses acupoints. You can feel the thoughtfulness from the shifts in methods and pressure, from acupressure to oil work.

I have to mention the post-massage surprise: they provide snacks and a wellness tea for guests. It was really impressive—based on my Gay SPA experiences this is the only place I’ve encountered that offers this kind of service. Very satisfying.

The wellness tea is reportedly something Muxia researched himself, bought the herbs for, and blended after many tastings. I personally think it’s very tasty and worth slowly savoring.

They also won’t rush you afterwards. If you want to sit and chat they’re happy to, and they will gently remind you to wash up to avoid leaving massage oil on your skin and clogging pores—very thoughtful.

The whole experience is great: considerate service, careful massage, not rushed at all. Even if the session runs over time they’ll finish the full procedure.

About sexual perks: yes, none at all. As the Xs in the ratings show, they offer pure massage only. Both therapists remain fully clothed throughout the session; at most you might get a hug at the end—nothing more.

Final overall impression: to clarify, I am a regular client of both therapists at Muxia Forest, but I’m not exaggerating in their favor—what I wrote above is purely my genuine impression. From the comfortable environment to the massage skills to the overall feeling afterward, and the fact that sessions often run over time, I genuinely recommend them.

If you’re looking for sexual perks, seriously think twice.

But if you want to leave those expectations behind and seek physical and mental relaxation through massage, it’s definitely worth a try—you might become a regular.
